It Is So Cold Today, But Green Bay Is A Little Warmer Because of You

It Is So Cold Today, But Green Bay Is A Little Warmer Because of You

Dear friends, you made today a warmer day, and the world a little better place.

Back in December we were thinking about Christmas and how fortunate we were.  We, at Verdigris Interior Design, live in nice homes, our children are warm and fed. Our needs are met, and then some. Feeling blessed, we wanted to find a way to share with those, in the Green Bay area, who are without the means to satisfy their most basic needs.

You might remember reading on one of our Facebook posts about our Buy a Blanket, Give a Blanket promotion. Thanks to so many of you, we were able to donate 20 warm, much needed blankets to the homeless in the Green Bay area.

While investigating how we wanted to distribute the blankets, we stumbled upon a community outreach program through the Green Bay Police Department. We contacted them and asked if we could send blankets with officers, so when they come across someone in need of a little extra warmth, they could leave one with them.

Just before Christmas, one of the officers stopped by Verdigris Interior Design and picked up a nice big pile of brand new, very warm blankets. He thanked us, but really, it is you who made this possible. It is you who took the time out of your busy holiday to send a little love to someone you don’t know, and will probably never meet. You showed love to someone’s brother, sister, son, daughter, father, mother, or friend. You made someone feel like they mattered.

So, while it is so very cold today, please take a minute, wrap yourself up in the beautiful blanket you purchased, and maybe say a little prayer for the people you blessed on this cold, cold night.

Interior Design Ideas…Visit the Studio and Shop on Thursday

So, did you ever wonder what Christmas is like at other people’s homes? Do they spend as much time as you do making sure every kitchen and living room decoration is perfectly placed? Is Christmas music playing as the tree is trimmed with elegant, whimsical, and child-made ornaments? Will they pause over a special ornament and recall the person who gifted it? Are they remembering friends and family who have passed and left a little piece of themselves in their homes? I think the answer is, in most cases, yes!

There is a special place in each heart for the people we love and Christmastime is the perfect time to remember them.

We remember our clients at this time of year, reflecting on their beautiful spirits and remember the beautiful homes we have had the good fortune to design. Hours spent with them, pouring over design ideas with laughter and the fun we had with all of them are memories we will carry with us. It has been a great year!!

THANK YOU TO OUR CLIENTS

To say thank you to our clients, we are having a last-minute Christmas event this Thursday, December 12th, from 4-8 pm at Verdigris Interior Design and we are hoping you can join us. Do you create a “Christmas Home?” We thought so, because most of us do, and sometimes we need just a “little something” to complete it. Feel free to bring a photo of an area you are struggling with. We would be happy to give you design tips. Be it kitchen, living room, or anywhere else in the home, we are happy to help. If you need unique last-minute gift ideas or a few new ornaments for the tree, this is a great place to stop.

Las Vegas Market

Las Vegas Market

We’ve just arrived back from the World Market Center in Las Vegas.  It was a lot of fun.  We saw lots of great new product and experienced all the new up and coming trends in home fashion.  We’re excited to be bringing it to Green Bay, WI.  A lot of the colors we were seeing were jade greens and basic oranges.  The “modern rustic” look is refining itself.  We’re seeing reclaimed wood mixed with high shine metals.  Petrified wood is huge right now in accent tables and sculptural art.  Lighting continues to become more of an art.  The options are endless.  Custom beaded chandeliers had everyone’s attention.  We are extremely excited about the new lines we are offering that are no where to be found in our area,  especially in outdoor furnishings.  Check back soon for photos from Vegas…..
